MEI Online: MEI Conferences: Automated Mineralogy 08: Introduction |
This, the 3rd International Symposium on Automated Mineralogy (Automated Mineralogy 08), was organised by Minerals Engineering International and was sponsored by Intellection, Xstrata Process Support, SGS Mineral Services and Bruker AXS. Media sponsors were the Gold & Minerals Gazette and International Mining. Mineralogists are able to draw on a wide range of techniques which allow for the automated analysis of earth resource materials. These include optical, near infra-red, x-ray beam, laser beam, electron beam, and proton beam techniques, to name a few. This conference brought together professionals concerned with the analysis and interpretation of mineralogical data using automated techniques, as well those involved with the development of hardware and software solutions to aid automated mineralogical analysis. Papers were invited on the following suggested topics:
Automated Mineralogy 08 was immediately followed by iUG08 Invitational (Annual QEMSCAN User Group Meeting) which took place on August 29-30 2008 at the Stamford Plaza. For further information contact Jolene Alfred on jolene.alfred@intellection.com.au
Past Conferences "It was certainly one of the better conferences [Automated Mineralogy 06] I have attended over the years. I had a very productive time in Brisbane and made lots of useful contacts."
