:: Plenge Laboratories of Lima, Peru to receive New SAGDesign Test Mill for Comminution Testing

Gustavo Plenge, President and Owner of Plenge Laboratories and John Starkey, President and Owner of Starkey & Associates Inc. are pleased to announce their exclusive agreement to provide SAGDesign comminution testing to Peruvian-based mining clients.

Adding a well-established and respected South American laboratory to the SAGDesign consulting group is a great new phase for the SAGDesign Test, John Starkey stated. “Until now, samples had to be shipped to North America which would take more time. Now they can be processed in Lima and allow our South American clients to directly observe the test work in progress.

The test equipment is currently being installed and will soon be commissioned. Gustavo Plenge stated that “Exclusively offering the SAGDesign testing procedure will provide more metallurgical jobs within Peru while expanding Plenge’s comminution testing capabilities."

Starkey & Associate Inc. offers Professional Engineering Services as well as the Mineral Processing Industry's most accurate and cost effective technology for designing SAG and AG mills. Now in its seventh year, the patented SAGDesign test is combined with supervised sample selection to measure the total required grinding energy to meet our client’s throughput criteria prior to the bankable feasibility study phase for any project. With 336 tests completed on 63 projects to date, this grinding mill design technology has been utilized by junior and major mining companies world-wide to quickly define grinding requirements for future mill procurement and production forecasting. This design technology is universal to any SAG or AG mill and provides the basis for one major manufacturer to guarantee performance in mills supplied by them, when designed by Starkey & Associates using SAGDesign technology protocols.

The Plenge Laboratory was established in 1954 to provide assay and metallurgical services to the Peruvian mining industry. Plenge provides both the facilities and the experience to provide consistent high quality service. Our facilities are among the finest available and our experience spans more than 53 years. Our vast experience and top of the line equipment allows us to provide our clients with the service they require. We will keep striving to be the best laboratory in the region and maintain the capabilities our clients demand.
