An experienced Project Metallurgist required for a 6 month contract in North Queensland

With operational sites in Queensland and across Australia, this mining house ensures strategic forward planning approaches are taken to its mining methods. This mining house situated in North Queensland requires an experienced Project Metallurgist.
Your new role
As Project Metallurgist you will be reporting directly to the Senior Project Metallurgist and liaising closely with the Mining Technical Services and Processing Technical Services teams as well as Processing Operations, Maintenance and Laboratory personnel. You will be an integral member of the Metallurgy team involved directly in resolving technical and operational issues that are limiting the current grade-recovery position under the existing process flow sheet. Your will be responsible for overseeing the project management of medium scale projects and delivering them in a cost effective manner to ensure increased revenue and product quality. This role is based in North West QLD on either a FIFO or residential basis for a 6 month contract.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need a tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Mineral Processing. At least 2-5 years experience and a strong background in project management, concentrator and/or smelter process improvements and project work, risk management improvement opportunities and preferably have knowledge and experience in ore characterisation, mineralogy and flotation test work. This position requires you to communicate within your team and with all operational personnel in order to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives as well as ensuring safe production and legislative requirements are met. You will need to be competent with computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, Ellipse, TM1 and OSI Soft PI.
