Senior Metallurgist - Copper Concentrator  [October 26, 2019]

Location: Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia

The Role

Reporting to the Metallurgy Superintendent you will lead your team and influence key stakeholders within the business to improve the capability and efficiency of the copper concentrator to maximise value from the Mine-Concentrator-Smelter-Refinery value chain.

You will establish metallurgical programs that will allow you to identify opportunities to unlock value from ore domains within mining resources and reserves, and you will collaborate with Glencore Technology and the other Concetrators owned or operated by Glencore in Australia and Overseas to identify and implement best metallurgical practices.

You will engage suppliers and external partners to identify new technologies that would improve efficiency or the concentrator, or that would allow increasing ore reserves.

You will create capability within the team by mentoring Metallurgist and Graduates.

The annual salary for this full-time permanent role will be dependent upon the depth of experience and skillset the successful candidate will bring to the position. In addition, you will also receive a car allowance, housing allowance and utilities reimbursement, relocation support and three-month transit accommodation to help you settle in.
