:: Anvil Completes Mutoshi Review

Anvil Mining has completed its due diligence review of the Mutoshi copper-cobalt tailings project in the Democratic Republic of Congo's Kolwezi region. A sampling programme has indicated that the average grade of the tailings and coarse rejects is higher than previously thought, and will be above 4% copper. Anvil is continuing to fast-track development plans, with the aim of starting production before the end of 2005. The company has commissioned Intermet Engineering of Perth to design a 1 Mt/y heavy media separation plant, which is expected to produce more than 25 kt of copper in oxide concentrate per annum at a recovery of approximately 70%.
