:: Allmineral Supplies more alljigs® in South Africa

At the end of 2005, the South African mining company Sishen Iron Ore Company signed a contract for the delivery of 18 alljigs® from allmineral in South Africa, whose Principal is located in Duisburg, Germany. Kumba has now ordered six more jigging machines from allmineral in Johannesburg for the Sishen expansion project in South Africa.

The alljigs® will be installed as part of an extension of the Sishen Expansion Project; the number of modules have now been increased from six to eight. The 4,000 tons per hour system which will now include 24 alljig® units, will be the largest of its kind in the world and is scheduled to begin operation in April 2007. This expansion will increase the present production of iron ore significantly and also increase exports: as of 2008 roughly 37 million tons will be exported annually. To handle all of this; in addition to the capacity on the existing 860 kilometers Sishen to Saldanha railway line being increased, the harbour facilities at Saldanha will also be expanded.

The decision of SIOCís management to purchase additional jigging systems from allmineral was primarily due to the high degree of precision facilitated by the simple, yet advanced control systems for the beneficiation of iron ore facilitated by the alljigs®. With these systems the South African company - the fourth largest iron ore producer in the world and the largest in Africa - plans to extract high-value product from resources which up to now have been considered to be of a lesser grade.
