:: CME Breaks into Namibia with First Sale of a Tecman Rockbreaker Boom

Crushing & Mining Equipment Pty Ltd (CME) have announced the sale of a Tecman rockbreaker boom system to B2Gold, Namibia Pty Ltd which occurred in June. The sale will mark the first unit of capital equipment to be commissioned in Namibia when it goes into continuous service in the fourth quarter of 2014. The sale occurred based on the recommendations made by leading EPCM Lycopodium Mineral Queensland Pty Ltd. B2Gold is a Vancouver based gold producer with three operating mines and a strong portfolio of development and exploration assets.

The Tecman rockbreaker boom will be used on the Otjikoto Gold Project, located 300km north of Namibia's capital city of Windhoek. The country has a strong history of mining and well established infrastructure, along with a government committed to the development of the mining industry, making it an opportune market for CME to penetrate.

The Tecman UA1750 Heavy Duty Mining Rockbreaker Boom incorporating a Tecman TMB27-V5 hammer is a purpose-built stationary model that will be utilised on the primary gyratory crusher in the mine's processing plant. The total weight of the boom and hammer combined is in excess of 27 tonnes and has the lifting capability of 4 tonnes, enabling the boom to also be used as a lifting device while doing maintenance on the crusher itself. It also has remote control capabilities to allow the operator to control the boom internally from the control cabin.

Based in Saint-Quentin, France, Tecman has been a global leader in rock breaking solutions for over 20 years. With complete in-house mechanical, electronic and hydraulic design, manufacturing capabilities along with a global presence, Tecman offers the flexibility to manufacture rock breaker booms to suit any requirements. Tecman is also the world's largest manufacturer of custom manufactured rock breaker booms and is able to supply aftermarket parts to suit a wide range of competing OEM products currently in the market.

Jamie Benson, Regional Sales Manager commented that "This rockbreaker sale into Namibia clearly demonstrates CME's global supply ability, not only in our already established product lines of manganese liners and spare parts, but also for our range of capital equipment. CME has worked hand in hand with Tecman to ensure that B2Gold's specifications were met completely and by doing so were awarded the supply of the purpose-built unit." Furthermore Benson stated that "Although CME has supplied manganese wear liners and crusher parts into Africa for many years, this first-time sale into the Namibian mining market demonstrates CME's rapidly increasing market presence in the African region and particularly into the rockbreaker and boom market."

Along with the sale of the rock breaker boom, CME will be supplying all critical spare parts for the unit and has the ability to provide on-site service support and engineering to the region.
