:: Cluff Mining Sells SA Gold Operation

UK-listed Cluff Mining has sold its South African gold mining subsidiary, Cluff Mining SA, to a combined empowerment and management grouping, in order to focus on its platinum-group metal projects. Cluff's gold assets comprise the Agnes mine and surrounding areas in the Barberton region. Agnes is being redeveloped using the GeoCoat biological heap-leaching technology from Geobiotics Inc, and is expected to produce 1 800 oz of gold per month after full commissioning in January 2003.
