:: Knelson's Gravity Circuit

In late July, Knelson Gravity Solutions (KGS) received notification from AMEC Engineering that it had been selected as the preferred supplier of the gravity circuit for the Phoenix project. This circuit will consist of four semi-continuous Knelson KC-XD48 concentrators for primary gravity recovery. Two concentrators will be installed on each grinding line, where they will treat a portion of mill discharge. Each KC-XD48 unit will treat up to 330 t/h.

The Knelson tails will be sent to contact cell flotation.The contact cell concentrate along with the rougher concentrate, will be processed through a semi-continuous Knelson KC-XD3O for additional recovery of fine, free gold. This unit has been equipped with a variable-gravity package to enable it to operate at up to a g-force of 200.

All gravity concentrates will be treated in a high efficiency ConSep Acacia Reactor model CS4000, which will also be manufactured and supplied by Knelson Gravity Solutions.

Gold recovery by gravity is expected to be in the range of 25-30% of total plant output. This was determined through extensive GRG testing and the use of KCMODPro, Knelson's proprietary predictive modelling program.
