:: Sedgman Extends Mount Isa Operating Contract with Mount Isa Mines

Leading resources sector services company Sedgman Limited have announced the renewal of its crushing and screening contract with Glencore’s Mount Isa Mines operation in north-west Queensland. Sedgman has operated at Mount Isa Mines since 2006 and today’s renewal extends the operating term until August 2016.

The facility is scheduled to crush approximately 3.2 Mt/a of lead/zinc ore from the Black Star Open Cut mine. It incorporates a three stage crushing circuit which reduces material from a maximum feed size of 800mm to a final product size of 14mm. The facility consists of two separate crushing circuits capable of processing 400 t/h each.

Sedgman Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Peter Watson said he was delighted to continue strengthening the relationship with Mount Isa Mines. “We have been working closely with Mount Isa Mines to continually improve our operations performance through effective operating practices. Our Mount Isa operations team have demonstrated their expertise in maintaining high-availability and delivering high production performance whilst maintaining excellent safety standards."

Sedgman has approximately 19 employees on site supported by an off-site technical team in Brisbane and Townsville. Sedgman’s Townsville workshop facility provides fabrication, equipment refurbishment and shutdown support to the Mount Isa facility.
