:: Vale Extends Services Contract for S11D Iron Ore Project in Brazil

Vale has extended WorleyParsons' services contract for the S11D Project. Vale's multi-billion dollar S11D Project is a world class 90 million tonnes per annum iron ore processing facility located approximately 1,940 km north east of Sao Paulo in Para State, Brazil, in one of the world's richest ore bodies.

WorleyParsons has been working on the S11D project since 2010. The contract extension will enable WorleyParsons to complete the detailed design scope for the modular ore processing facilities and commence provision of field engineering and early construction support activities. Furthermore, the contract extension secures WorleyParsons' ongoing involvement with the project and will allow the transfer of its design knowledge and expertise into the construction phase.

The contract extension was awarded following Vale obtaining the installation license for the S11D project on 3 July 2013 and subsequently approving the complete S11D program, comprised of investments in the mine, processing plant, railway capacity and port.

Commenting on the contract extension, WorleyParsons' Chief Executive Officer, Mr Andrew Wood said "We are delighted that after 3 years of continuous involvement in the S11D project, Vale continues to show great confidence in our capabilities. We look forward to supporting Vale in the ultimate achievement of the project's business objectives."
