The Metso Minerals range of mobile screens is ready to accept the challenges of the future. Following heavy investments in product development and capital improvement programs at Metso Minerals mobile screen manufacturing plants, the product range today meets the levels of quality and reliability expected by customers. The highlight of this development process is the launch of the revolutionary SmartScreenTM technology for mobile screens.

SmartScreenTM refers to an Intelligent Controller (IC300) that controls the start-up and shut-down processes. It supervises and adjusts the unit automatically for optimum screening results, maintaining maximum screening efficiency by controlling the feed rate and screen performance. The controller carefully monitors all key functions and components of the unit to ensure longevity and reliability.
According to Mr Hansbury, development of the SmartScreenTM technology is a real case of Metso's 'Linking innovations' slogan.
"We combined the collective expertise of our mobile screen team, our mobile crushing plant engineers and Metso Automation colleagues to produce the first mobile screens with PLC (Programmable Logic Control). Working as a unified team was the key to our success."
SmartScreenTM technology is deployed in Nordberg ST171, ST348 and ST351 mobile screens.
Incorporating SmartScreenTM technology, the Nordberg ST351 track-mounted mobile screening plant is an ideal solution for jobs requiring high production, fine screening and multiple products.
