:: Fine Coal Centrifuge

Schenck Australia has released the SFC1200 centrifuge for dewatering fine coal. The horizontal scroll basket centrifuge uses high G forces to provide dryer product discharge.

It is easy to maintain and easy to run, operating quietly because of its high torque toothed belt drive. The tooth belt drive also offers reliability, with minimal parts requiring maintenance and with low-cost replacement parts.

The wet feed passes to a pre-acceleration cone before being accelerated to the tangential speed of the wedge wire basket. The high gravitational forces created by the rotation of the basket drives the water off the product.

The internal scroll travels slightly faster than the basket and the differential speed conveys the material from the feed end to the discharge. The scroll and basket are accessed through the hinged main access door, which swings the feed chute clear, to allow for maintenance and inspection. A centrifugal clutch with a proximity switch detects overloads and protects the drive system.

A force oil lubrication system assures adequate lubrication to the external main shaft bearings. The hollow shaft system uses low-profile, high-load-bearing toroidal bearing design, which is grease lubricated and sealed.

High-wear areas of the centrifuge are lined with ceramic wear-resistant tiles. The SFC1200 can be supplied with the optional Vibromac 200 control system to monitor bearing condition and centrifuge vibration.
