At the end of June a US$1.8m plant upgrade at Sallies' Witkop fluorspar mine, located south of Zeerust in South Africa, was near completion. This will see its production increase from 100,000 tonnes to 180,000 tonnes per year. The operations are described in Issue 4 (2004) of Mining Review Africa (pps. 42-45).
