![]() :: Superconducting Magnetic Separation in Kaolin Processing Sueprconducting magnets have been in use for many years in the kaolin industry. However, until fairly recently they have been complicated and expensive, restricting their use to just a few high volume kaolin producers. The Powerflux was developed by Eriez Magnetics Europe to serve a much wider market. Using the latest in cryogen free superconducting technology, it is a much simpler and more efficient solution, as discussed in detail in an article in the June 2004 issue of Industrial Minerals (pps. 84-87).
