Sueprconducting magnets have been in use for many years in the kaolin industry. However, until fairly recently they have been complicated and expensive, restricting their use to just a few high volume kaolin producers.

The Powerflux was developed by Eriez Magnetics Europe to serve a much wider market. Using the latest in cryogen free superconducting technology, it is a much simpler and more efficient solution, as discussed in detail in an article in the June 2004 issue of Industrial Minerals (pps. 84-87).
