Tenured or Tenure-Track Faculty in Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy  [September 9, 2021]

Location: Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO, USA

The Department of Mining Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines (Mines) invites applications for an academic faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy (MPEM). The successful candidate will support the MPEM program in the Department of Mining Engineering and will contribute to providing undergraduate and graduate students with a world-class educational experience while conducting cutting edge research in a wide range of applied fields, and with meaningful service contributions.

The candidate will be an active contributor to several established and highly acclaimed research programs under the Kroll Institute for Extractive Metallurgy (KIEM), including the Center for Resource Recovery and Recycling, the Critical Materials Institute, REMADE, and other externally sponsored projects. The candidate is expected to also develop independent research projects that complement their specific interests. The candidate will teach in support of the extractive metallurgy program which may include courses in: pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy and electrometallurgy, mineral processing, recycling, chemical processing, transport phenomena, chemical thermodynamics and others as required. The candidate will participate in service contributions both internal and external to the university and will distinguish themselves for their achievements as evaluated by their peers and program constituencies.
