![]() PhD Candidate for Mineralogical Characterisation of Mine Tailings for the Potential as a Resource [May 12, 2022] Location: NTNU, Trondheim, Norway We have a vacancy for a PhD candidate at the Department of Geoscience and Petroleum (IGP). For a position as a PhD Candidate, the goal is a completed doctoral education up to an obtained doctoral degree. The selected PhD candidate will contribute to research on the potential of using historic mine tailings as a resource for Critical Raw Materials for the green transition. The main objectives of the project are to contribute to the understanding of the internal distribution of critical minerals, mineralogical properties- and the mineral processing potential of the mine tailings. Knowledge about the distribution of critical minerals in the original ore deposit will be essential. The project will be based on state-of-the-art mineralogical characterization methods. The PhD project will be part of the Departmentīs Research Group in Mineral Production and will work closely with researchers and lab engineers at the Department. More information & how to apply
