Elsevier is delighted to announce that Professor Mauricio Torem will succeed Kari Heiskanen and D.J. Nagaraj as Editor of International Journal of Mineral Processing on 1 January 2014.
Mauricio is a metallurgical and industrial engineer with degrees in metallurgical engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Currently he is Professor of Mineral Processing at the Pontifical Catholic University where he is Head of the Mineral Processing Group of the Department of Materials Engineering. He is widely published in a range of chemical and metallurgical engineering journals as well as in many conference proceedings.
His main research fields are mineral processing, and mineral and environmental biotechnology, particularly flotation, non-ferrous metallurgy and environmental issues.
Elsevier would like to extend their thanks to Kari and Nag who have edited International Journal of Mineral Processing since early 2007. During that period the journal has seen its impact factor rise from 0.970 to 1.378. Nag will continue to serve on the Editorial Board from January 2014.
