In January 1999 MEI Online appeared on the Internet for the first time, set up and maintained by the family-run business Minerals Engineering International. The site provides a central source of information specifically aimed at mineral processors and extractive metallurgists. Although a great number of mining information sites have sprung up on the web since its conception, it was felt that there was no site catering for the related, but often overlooked, industry of mineral engineering.

Since January 1999, MEI Online has grown considerably, and so has the number of visitors to the site. Please contact amanda@min-eng.com if you would like a copy of MEI Online's statistical report for the year so far, produced using Google Analytics.

The role of MEI is to disseminate information to the minerals engineering community. The company does this in three ways:

1) MEI Online
2) Minerals Engineering - this internationally recognised, peer-reviewed journal is published by Elsevier Science Ltd, and edited by Dr. Barry Wills of MEI. Each monthly issue contains papers from leading researchers in the field.
3) High quality international conferences - since their inception in 1991, MEI Conferences have developed a reputation for bringing together groups of high profile academics, researchers and industrialists, to discuss the latest developments in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy. MEI's policy in organising these events has been to seek the collaboration of internationally recognised Centres of Excellence.

MEI is family-run and owned. Senior partners in the company are Dr Barry Wills, his daughter Dr Amanda Wills and son Jon Wills. Click here for more information on MEI.
